Cleanliness - “Clean roads and public spaces reflect respect for our community and our city.”

Cleanliness & Garbage Management Initiatives

Unregulated garbage dumping along roadsides and outside residential societies has been a persistent issue across Kondhwa–Kausar Baugh, affecting public health, safety, and the overall quality of life. Recognizing the seriousness of this problem, Sameer Shafi Pathan, through Nagrik Adhikar Manch, took consistent and coordinated action to address cleanliness concerns across the ward.

Focused Action at Key Problem Areas

Special attention was given to chronic garbage dumping spots, particularly:

  • Welcome Hall Chowk, especially outside Konark Pooram Society

  • NIBM Road and surrounding areas

  • Roadside stretches where waste was frequently dumped outside societies

These locations were cleaned multiple times, ensuring removal of accumulated garbage and restoration of hygiene in public spaces.

Coordination with Local Authorities

Sameer Shafi Pathan worked closely with local civic body authorities and sanitation departments to ensure:

  • Timely garbage removal

  • Deployment of cleaning staff and vehicles

  • Follow-up action at repeat dumping locations

  • Better monitoring of sanitation conditions

This coordination helped convert complaints into visible action on the ground.

Community Cleanliness Drives

In addition to administrative follow-ups, multiple cleanliness drives were organized across Kondhwa–Kausar Bagh:

  • Volunteer-led cleaning campaigns at roadsides and public spots

  • Awareness efforts discouraging open dumping

  • Encouraging resident participation in maintaining cleanliness

These drives reinforced the message that cleanliness is a shared responsibility, supported by active leadership.
