COVID-19 Response & Community Support

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sameer Shafi Pathan actively supported the residents of Kondhwa Khurd – Kausar Baugh through awareness, coordination, and relief efforts, ensuring public safety and essential support during a challenging time.

All community activities, including Eid-e-Milad celebrations, were conducted strictly as per government and local COVID-19 guidelines. In coordination with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), regular updates were shared to create awareness about WHO-recommended safety protocols, containment zones, and movement regulations.

To balance safety with livelihoods, he recommended the use of open spaces for hawkers to sell essential vegetables, ensuring social distancing while maintaining access to daily necessities. Relief initiatives included the distribution of food items and fruits to needy families and migrant workers returning to their villages, along with guidance on approved transport procedures during lockdown.

Sanitization drives were organized across societies, mosques, and public areas to reduce the spread of infection. As a mark of respect for frontline workers, food packets were distributed to Kondhwa Police personnel for their dedicated service during the crisis.
