Addressing Drinking Water Crisis in Kondhwa–Kausar Baugh

Access to adequate drinking water is a basic necessity, yet residents of Kondhwa–Kausar Baugh faced a serious crisis due to shortened water supply timings and low water pressure from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Water Department. This situation caused daily hardship for households, senior citizens, and working families across the area.

Recognizing the urgency of the issue, Sameer Shafi Pathan, as President of Nagrik Adhikar Manch, took up the matter on priority. He escalated the problem with the Water Department, raised formal complaints, and ensured continuous follow-up with concerned officials so that the voices of affected citizens were not ignored.

When delays persisted, a peaceful Handa Morcha was organized to highlight the severity of the water crisis and demand immediate corrective action. The protest remained disciplined and citizen-centric, drawing attention to the genuine difficulties faced by residents while maintaining respect for democratic processes.

As a result of sustained representation, coordination, and public pressure, the water supply issues were finally resolved. Supply timings improved, water pressure was restored, and normalcy returned to households across Kondhwa–Kausar Baugh.

This successful resolution reinforced the belief that persistent civic engagement and responsible leadership can bring essential services back on track, even in long-standing administrative challenges.
